Tim Healy on Stars in Their Eyes

Last Saturday, fans of the TV series 'Stars in their eyes', would have been treated to AufPet's own Tim Healy, appearing of Joe Cocker singing 'You are so beautiful'. His wife and eldest son were in the audience as he sang the number. Alas Tim did not win, the gold going to Jack Ryder as Justin Timberlake. It was none the less very entertaining to watch.

Pat Roach Dies at 67

It is with tremendous sadness and regret that The Original Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Homepage reports the tragic death of Pat Roach. Pat was 67 years old and had been battling with cancer for three years.

Pat was infamous to fans of the show as Bomber, the gentle giant. Pat always loved his time on the show, and the friendship he developed with his co-stars was one which he cherished. A former professional wrestler, Pat went on to open his own fitness centre in his native Birmingham. He released “If”, his autobiography in 2001, and had just releaqsed a second book “Pat Roach’s Birmingham”.

He will be greatly missed by many, not least the fans of his most infamous character, and his loss will leave a Bomber shaped gap in British TV Drama for many years to come…..

He's behind you!

It's that time of year again, when the celebrities don colourful costumes and grace the stages of our National theatres to act out fairytales and legends in the classic Christmas tradition of Pantomime.

This year AufPet's own Tim Healy is in his native city, playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan, at Newcastle's Theatre Royal.

AufPet Book on its Way!

F
ans will be pleased to know that a long overdue book to accompany Auf Wiedersehen Pet will soon hit the shops.  "That's Livin' Alright : The Auf Wiedersehen Pet Story" will take a major in depth look at the shows, from its beginnings in 1982 right up until series 4, currently in production.  Author Dan Waddell tells us that it is around 58,000 words, and when published will also feature between 120 and 150 pictures.  This long awaited Hardback companion from BBC books has a provisional (subject to change) publish date of October sixteenth.  Copies can be pre-orders from Amazon.co.uk

AufPet Convention Holdup!

The Original Auf Wiedersehen Pet Homepage is sorry to announce thata  planned Auf Wiedersehen Pet convention will be indefinitely postponed.  At the moment, certain working parameters make the event impractical, and rising costs of the event meant that we have had to put off until the circumstances are better for us to organise the event.

We know that fans would not be happy with an overpriced lack-lustre event, so we have decided not to deliver one.  We fully hope that sometime in the future we can bring you such an event, but for now it is sadly not possible.  A big thank you to every one who offered their support to us, and we hope to see you when the event finally arises.
