Photo caption: GARY: All night binge. ===================================================== Actor Gary Holton, popular star of the TV comedy Auf Wiedersehen, pet was found dead yesterday after an all-night drinking binge. It was believed that he may have had a heart attack. Gary, 33, who had heart trouble six years ago and a brain haemorrhage last year, was a self-confessed heroin user. His death came just days after newspaper stories about his drug addiction and kinky love affairs. DRUGS He was found dead in bed by his girlfriend Janet McIllwain in a friends flat at wembley. Police investigating his death found no traces of drugs in the flat. Gary, who played who played Cockney carpenter Wayne in the series, began his drinking spree at the Dog and Bear pub in Nottingham after filming in the city. Gary was out drinking at a Maida Vale night spot until 4 a.m. He was found dead six hours later. A barmaid said, "He had quite a few drinks, but was not drunk." Gary, who only recently returned from working on a new series of Auf Wiedersehen in Spain, once said, "I adore women and I do like a tipple, The problem is they can both get you in to trouble." *Drugs and kinky sex - see Page 5.
