Auf
Wiedersehen, Pet tops the bill of BBC Christmas season.
With
Christmas fast approaching, we have the usual boring
television to look forward to, with the Queens speech, The
Sound of Music, The Snowman, and no doubt a James Bond film
kicking about somewhere. But it's not all bad news. Auf
Wiedersehen, Pet is back, with a two part Christmas special
set in Thailand. "Hut on the River Kwai" reunites the boys
for yet more overseas work courtesy of the Overseas Estates
Development. Tim Healy, Kevin Whatley, Jimmy Nail, Timothy
Spall and Christopher Fairbank are back, along with other
past pet faces Branka Katic as Tatiana, and Alexander Hanson
as Tarquin.
Sadly following
the tragic death of Pat Roach earlier this year, it has been
announced that this will be the last ever "Auf Wiedersehen,
Pet". There are no definite broadcast dates for the two
episodes, but they are likely to be around the big day
itself. The DVD of "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet - Hut on the River
Kwai" is due for release by VCI on December 27th.
